In 2016, the Council of Agriculture (now the Ministry of Agriculture) launched the "Eatender" Senior-Friendly Food evaluation program to encourage food manufacturers to develop products tailored to senior needs. Centered on four core dietary principles—"Easy to Eat, Nutritious to Eat, Sufficient to Eat, and Smart to Eat"—the initiative helps seniors conveniently select foods tailored to their physical and nutritional demands.

The Concept of Eatender

The name "Eatender" combines "Eat" with "Tender," embodying the qualities of care, gentleness, and dedicated nourishment. Serving as a guardian of dietary well-being, the initiative draws upon international best practices to foster domestic senior-friendly foods grounded in eight core attributes: Elderly, Affordable, Thoughtful, Easy, Nutritious, Delicious, Enjoyable, and Reliable.
